HISTORY

New Boston Truck & Equipment was established on May 1, 1996 by Bill Matheson.  The business at this time was primarily service and repair on trucks and equipment.  The business grew and in 2002, he hired his first employee.  In 2005, the business was outgrowing it's current location and needed to find a new and larger home. Bill's original goal for his business was to someday expand to sell and service tractors.  Since bill owned a small farm with his wife, Bianca, he decided that it was time for them to look for a new location to expand his business and start looking for a brand of tractor to represent.  Bill has used several models of Massey Ferguson tractors on his farm.  Since he used the brand and knew the quality in the product, it was an easy decision for him to make in his pursuit to find the brand he wanted to represent.  So in 2005, while building a new shop location, he started the dream of obtaining a Massey Ferguson dealership.  At this time, Massey Ferguson felt they already had an established presence in the area and was not entertaining new dealer opportunities.

Bill begin researching other tractor brands he could stand behind.  In 2006, Bill found that Cub Cadet was offering a line of compact tractors built by Yanmar; he felt that was something he wanted to sell and service.  He started obtaining a Cub Cadet / Yanmar dealership, and in 2007, became a full line Cub Cadet/Yanmar dealer. Between 2007 and 2010, Bill never gave up on his quest to obtain a Massey Ferguson dealership. Through these years, he talked with a few representatives from Massey Ferguson and finally, in late 2011, he was given the green light from them to start the process in becoming a dealer.  In late March 2012, after many years and conversations, he obtained a full line Massey Ferguson dealership.
